Remote BMW tuning — VIN-locked online flashing

You do not need to drop the car off, remove the ECU or post anything. We prepare the calibration and sign it against your chassis number; you do the writing yourself, in your own driveway, from your phone.

How the process works

Four steps. Your car never leaves you.

  1. 1 You send the vehicle details and VIN, and we agree on the package.
  2. 2 After payment your chassis is authorised — authorisation is bound to the VIN, not to a device.
  3. 3 You open the MOSTUNED app and connect to the car with an ENET or WiFi-ENET adapter.
  4. 4 The app reads the VIN, checks with the server, downloads the calibration signed for it, and writes it.

Required hardware: an iPhone plus a USB-C to Ethernet or WiFi-ENET adapter. Verified coverage: the Turkish-market G20 320i — B48B16 (1,597 cc) engine, MG1CS003 ECU. Coverage is expanding and will be announced here; ask anyway if your car is not listed. Prerequisite: BMWs built after June 2020 need the ECU to have been unlocked beforehand. The app checks this for free the moment it connects — see DME unlock.

The security model — why the keys are not on your phone

Write access to an ECU is unlocked with cryptographic keys. In most solutions those keys are embedded in the application itself; crack the app once, and the keys are out.

We inverted that. The keys live only on our server. The app relays the vehicle's challenge to the server, receives the signed response and passes it back to the car. No key is ever present on the phone — the app works as a deliberately "dumb but safe" flashing terminal.

The calibration file is not generic either: it is built for your VIN and downloaded through a single-use link. An unauthorised chassis cannot use the same file.

The app also pins our server certificate and refuses to write on jailbroken devices.

Remote flashing questions

What happens if something goes wrong mid-write?

The write sequence runs step by step inside an open programming session, and every step's response is verified. Dropping battery voltage is the most common real risk, which is why we ask you to check the battery or put the car on a charger first. The process and its risks are set out in detail in our disclaimer.

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes. The app needs internet to verify authorisation and download the calibration. The connection to the car itself is local, over the adapter.

Can I write the same file to another car?

No. Authorisation is bound to the chassis number and the file is signed for that VIN.

Is there an Android version?

The app is currently iOS only. Any Android plans will be announced here.

Where do I download the app?

We send you the installation link once your authorisation is complete.
