ZF 8-speed transmission software: Stage 1 vs Stage 2
Engine software raises power; transmission software puts it on the road properly.
What transmission software does
The ZF 8-speed has its own control unit. Shift timing, shift speed and the torque the gearbox accepts are set there. The factory calibration is tuned for comfort.
Transmission Software I
Enables Launch Control and Shift Lights: launch control and shift indicator lights in the cluster.
Transmission Software II
Adds faster shifts and a raised torque limit. It is the level needed for the gearbox to handle the extra torque from engine tuning, which is why Stage 2 transmission software is included in our 300 HP Ataşehir package.
Why together with engine tuning?
At the 300 HP level torque rises to 400 Nm. If the gearbox keeps its factory torque limit it trims part of that torque itself and you do not get the full result. Set up together, the car responds consistently and quickly.
Frequently asked questions
Can transmission software be done on its own?
